A new day.

Over the last few years, I have had a few special friends tell me how much they like to see me smile. I still am surprised by it and taken back that I have friends who care about my happiness. Coming from the conundrum I have, everyday joy is difficult to generate......

Little things become big things much easier than they used to and I know my locale is not aiding in the lopsidedness of life. Without whining too much, fixing problems is getting very, very old. Perhaps there is something new on the horizon in the new year coming.....

Southern California had rainstorms last night and the worst thing I saw was mud on our street, leaves blown around, and heard of a twister landing near L.A. We are near the beach cities, and so far, not close to any wildfires or mudslides.
The drains here are typically bad which cause plumbing problems, such as a dishwasher that doesn't drain or showers that stand still. The rain is needed, but can end up being a nuisance because we are ill equipped to handle anything out of the norm.

This weekend is the Boys Volleyball Classic held 2 days in Anaheim and a time when college coaches begin scouting recruits. We have a few contacts coming, and although Logan is a junior, every minute of play can count. The season has been an unsettled one, for many...........

Logan worked with his hands to try to fix my sweeper but it looks like it's on its way out:/ His interests are expanding into more outdoor activities, as he thinks of home. Air soft guns, target shooting, ATV's and open space unavailable here. He's growing into a fine, young man:)

It's been interesting to see Austin's ability to mix in with all types of ethnicities and cultures in SoCal. Many minorities move here and gravitate towards their own cultures; however, others integrate. Often times, I know my English is not understood. Austin, like me, enjoys getting to know many and finding out about cultures. He's very accepting.

It's another early morning tomorrow...... a new day.
