Connect rather than Complain.

As I was reflecting today on my own life and loss,  I was reminded of how followers of God in the the Bible and in our generation, typically cry out to Him when in a tough spot or when we need something. When life is good it's easy to be content and complacent in my faith.  That is human nature. I however, have not had such an easy time of it, which leads me to my passion.

The Israelites and the Exodus with Moses is a prime example of our need to complain rather than connect. Not to mention the phonies and falsehoods we have seen in previous generations, movements, and momentum gained in times past. Practically speaking, if I would simply want a connection with one who could do something for me when I needed help, it would be a sore excuse for a relationship.  There is a missing ingredient to the mix.........

There is a give and take, time spent speaking, and more listening. I find many want to remove the emptiness but find it tough to make a space in the heart to receive enlightenment like He can bring. A connection to our Higher Power does not simply happen; we cultivate the space in our hearts.

Not looking for a handout, but a touch in the heart.

He works all things for those who want to follow and love Him; key components to redemption and seeing it at work in life.
